FATURAN "APPRENTICESHIP" KOMBOLOIS
We, the creators of Komboloi Museum, have known in all these years of our wandering, almost all the materials with which in the old days - but even today - kombolois (worry beads) are made. Those who know and love the komboloi (worry bead) like us, admit without any hesitation that the most valuable, rarest material for a komboloi is Faturan. Faturan was the name of a great chemist who lived in the 19th century and after experimenting countless times, he created a mixture - an alloy - which consisted mainly of amber and bakelite shavings and gave it red and honey colors from natural materials, as well as from red wine and brandy. The mixture succeeded - and every Faturan bead - komboloi is a work of art... We, knowing the rarity of this material, since everything that happened was done until 1945 - 50, because since then the recipe (the know-how) was lost, we thought and composed with the passion that characterizes us and the remnants of these wonderful old worrybeads, a new kind komboloi. We called it "APPRENTICESHIP". This kind of komboloi is much cheaper than a 33 - bead collectible Faturan, but it remains extremely valuable as one can admire in the same komboloi circle and in each of its beads, the color, the weight and the perfection of the shapes, given to these magical kombolois once.
